A good display of pushing and tackling by the young Warriors, in particular Joshua Horsburgh, Lachlan Tress and Harvey Langford. Great teamwork in the second half with great passing from Lauren Gooden, Jack Rinehart and Ethan Calway.
This was a great effort from the undermanned Gulls Green. Alec, Gabbie and Nicholas were solid in defence and Cameron and Robbie created attacking opportunities with a couple of fast breaks. Unfortunately Gulls were unable to convert.
Gulls Gold 4 defeated Aztecs 0
Great game by Gulls who had to work hard for their goals. Improved players this week were Juliano Pisana, Pippa Dent and Daniel Greenall. The McWha brothers scored 2 goals each.
A good game from the team today. Stewart McKenzie showed good skills with the stick and was well supported by Jake Brown, Eleanor McKenzie, Megan Forrest and Chloe Scott who acted as goalkeeper. Well done Aztecs.
Drouids Navy 4 defeated Drouids Blue 2
The two Drouids teams, Navy and Blue, played a great game of hockey in good spirits. Edward, Riley M, Callum and Isaac all attacked hard for Navy while Sam, along with Zoe, Alice and Meagan, led the charge for Blue. Lachlan scored 2 late goals, one on the siren, to come away with a win for Navy. Go Drouids!

Warriors 1 defeated Drouids 0
Warriors played aggressive forward moving game ending in a goal scored by Brendan Noye. Ellen Bulmer showed great attacking skills supported by Ben Murphy. Chaylee Brownbill defended goals well and Georgia Gooden and Jack Rinehart intercepted many balls reversing play.
Consistency is certainly paying off for Drouids. Prue continues to defend beautifully and Liam’s keeping as always is superb. Great running from Sam Edward and Jacob. Award winners this week are Edward and Danielle.
Aztecs 2 defeated Gulls 0
Aztecs backed one another up throughout the game and were hungry for the ball. Katie Finger played determined hockey, Dean McMaster kept to his position, Shannon Ward was strong in defence and Chloe Bourke was wonderful in goals. A fantastic team effort.
The Gulls kept pushing forward but solid Aztec defence kept them out. Evan Tyson ran the ball down continually helped by Jesse Dent and Ryan Wearne. Cameron Bedford was solid in defence and new player Stephanie Kirkbright put in a great effort.

Gulls 2 defeated Aztecs 0
Ryan was the hero of the week with an awesome save as goalie. Genevieve was excellent with some amazing passages of play and perfect positioning. Michael played his best game and was strong on the backline. Kiarn, Kelsie and Steph all showed great improvement with James doing a wonderful job showing strength and skill.
Aztecs played a great team game with all players contributing to an exciting game. Aztecs continually pushed the ball forward but failed to convert. Defenders stayed strong in defence and never gave up. Well done Aztecs.
Drouids 5 defeated Warriors 1
A great match played in sticky muddy conditions. Matthew Christian, Kate Christian, Liz Christian, Sam and Leah Holgate continually drove the ball forward, while Penny Johnson and Alyce Hatfield assisted with the defence.
The game started in sparkling fashion with an inspirational run by Sam Lodge and Jack Trippet, resulting in a goal to Nicholas Brown. The heavy ground took its toll on the undermanned Warriors. Sean Bulmer, Stuart Rayner, Josh Hendencks and Brittany Tress tried hard all day. The end result was not indicative of the balance of play.

Drouids 2 defeated Warriors 1
Alex Borg, Julian Hannah and Tom Copping demonstrated great team work and passing skills. Josie Edmonds, Danielle Haley and Katie Jamieson all played in good positions for stopping Warriors attacks. Well done Drouids!
Stuart Rayner and Sam Lodge were strong in defence, Cassie Baker worked well in attack and Andrew Harrison was busy and kept on his toes by repeated Drouids attacks. The highlight of the game was Dean Gallagher in goal.
Gulls 3 defeated Aztecs 0
This was a great team effort from the Gulls. Natalie positioned herself well to score from a great pass from Wes. Ricky Michael and Grace all showed improved ball skills this week, Mel and Peter ran hard and Sarah and Will tried hard all game. Go Gulls!
A hard fought game against a strong Gulls team. Many of Aztecs players showed great courage and skill. Many of our players showed signs of tiredness with 7 having played the previous match. Good to have Georgia back after her illness and thanks go to our coach Barry Taylor for his guidance and sharing of his skills.

Drouids 3 defeated Warriors 0
Drouids played their fast open short game to perfection, especially in the second half. Nick, Zach, Joh, Tristan, Liam and Shane ran the ball well to enable Tom Watts (2) and Liam (1) to score. Good positional play from Steph, Katie, GK Leigh, Clare and Jack.
Clay Beasley and Bronwyn Rayner lead the Warriors assault on the goals. BJ Martin played strong in defence while Evelyn Rayner worked equally well at the other end of the ground. Warriors fought hard with great team work in defeat.
Aztecs 3 defeated Gulls 0
An awesome display by all of the Aztecs players. James Leitner shone as a top player with his brilliant “terrier like” pursuit of the ball and his strong hitting. Alex Stammers repelled the Gulls attacks while Jamie Cochrane kept the pressure on his opponents. Goal scorers: James Leitner, Jamie Cochrane, Gabrielle Higgins.
Another slow start from Gulls allowed 2 goals for Aztecs in the early minutes of the game. Gulls found better rhythm but were denied by a strong Aztecs defence. Todd Beasley recovered from a slow start to put in a great game, Nathan Kemp continued his good form, Ben Sandy and Neil Forth showed good skills, and Laura Court had a steady game.
Women’s
Aztecs 3 defeated Gulls Gold 1
A tough contest, which saw Aztecs have a lot of attacking play but unable to convert on many occasions due to Gulls Gold's defence and inaccurate passing. With the luxury of four interchange players, Aztecs were able to rest their weary bones to keep going. Goal scorers this week were Kerry Irwin, Rowena Beck and Bridget Penny who scored from a fantastic deflection. Chantal Wood Davies had a good game on the wing and Melissa Scott in goals kept Gold to only one goal.
This was a closely matched game. Good team work produced a goal for Robyn Duffy. Gulls young recruits Mel and Nat are improving each week.
Warriors 6 defeated Gulls Green 0
In the first half, last weeks bye was evident with the slow and sluggish play of the team. The second half saw a team of players working together, passing the ball around the field including the goal area to pass the ball around a great goal keeper. Improved players for the round were Kellianne McDonald, Rachel Taylor and Sam Williamson.
Superb backline play by Sarah, Jenny and Ruth unfortunately was unable to stop Warriors from scoring. Kath and Michelle ran hard all game and Julie and Sarah showed their improving skills. Good effort by Rochelle.
Men’s
Gulls 2 defeated Aztecs 1
A great team effort by the Gulls men resulted in a 2 -1 score line. Herograms this week go to Stuart Dowel for his usual hard running and attacking play and to Paul Kramer for a bulldog performance. Steve Wearne, in the right place at the right time, scored a great goal as did Michael Ballantyne.
Improved effort from Aztecs this week. Barry Stammers made a great return from injury and Chris Wood Davies played long balls from defence to open up the forward line. Patrick was tremendous in goals and Leigh played a good hard game.
Warriors 1 defeated Drouids 0
This was the funniest game seen all season between Warriors and Drouids. The Warriors goalie supported by the backs played a great game and to keep the score to 1 – 0. Scott Marks goaled in the last few minutes of the game.
The Drouids played skilful hockey with midfielders Gordon Hobson and Alistair Wright dominating play. Julian Hannah and John Thomson had a number of scoring opportunities but failed to convert. Chris Garden was a rock in defence, as was Jayden Leggett. The score remained at nil all for most of the game until in the 68th minute when Warriors had a rare shot on goal and scored from a short corner. This was definitely an awesome game with both teams worthy finals contenders.
