Gulls Green 2 defeated Drouids Navy 1
For Gulls, great forward play from the whole team allowed Gabbie Farnham to score the only goal for the first half. Robbie Schmitt peppered the goal early in the second half, minutes later Zoe Bush streaked forward pushing in a goal. Fantastic defence from Nick Mann and birthday boy Alec Bedford kept the Drouids team to one goal. A great team effort all round.
The Drouids Navy played a hard fought first half with Stephanie Zurrer doing a great job in defence and Edward Edmonds outstanding tackling. Sam Watts did great work in attack with great offensive runs and scored in the dying seconds of the second half, which also showed Felicity Hobson playing a great position and Isaac Daly playing well at both ends and Piper Hobson the smallest on the field tackling tenaciously.
Gulls Gold 4 defeated Drouids Blue 0
The score line did not reflect the intensity of the game. Lots of running and strong defence on both sides thwarted many attempts. For Gulls, Luke McWha broke away several times to score. The old “1-2” also proved to be a hardy trick.
For Drouids Blue, Riley Morton’s skilful near goals was an early highlight. Lachlan Hannah and Meghan Wright showed great running and tackling with Mia Pederson and Alice Grant using good stick skills.
Warriors 0 drew Aztecs 0
Highlights for Warriors were the good clean stopping from Ethan Calway and great defence by Damien Crawford. It was a very even game and Warriors began to improve their passing between players. Great Work!
In a fiercely contested game both Warriors and Aztecs remained scoreless despite repeated attempts. Aztecs Coach Tony congratulated the whole team on their excellent teamwork and great defence of goal. Chloe Scott and Sarah Chandler were determined in defence while Olivia Smetana, Brooke Hamilton and Eleanor McKenzie focused on the coach’s instructions spreading out and getting in front.

For Aztecs, Michael Finger pushed hard and ran the ball well down the field, Chris Cooper positioned well and Katie Finger was strong in attack and defence and was in much of the play. Dean McMaster, Shannon Ward and Matthew Phyland were strong in defence and the goal circle and Liam Robinson as goalie saved an almost certain goal in the first half.
Ellen Bulmer of Warriors was brave in defence in the goals and Ben Murphy did a great job dribbling the ball down the field. Brendan Noye was pushing the ball forward, Leigh Boreham tackled well, and Aiden Cumming did a great job of stopping and pushing the ball out of the circle. Georgia Gooden played well and Chaylee Brownbill followed the ball well.
Gulls 6 defeated Drouids 0
The Gulls powered their way to victory against a determined Drouids team. Tight defence by Cameron Bedford, Joel Claxton and Luke McWha kept the Drouids scoreless. Evan Tyson ably assisted his brother Sam in some great goal scoring play.
Excellent Drouids coaching is paying off with improved teamwork from all members of the team. Congratulations to Deb Wigglesworth for her continued dedication and tireless energy. Excellent blocking and defence from Prue Grant and terrific co-operation between Alec Madill and William Edmonds. Unfortunately the score was not reflective of the quality of play. Special awards go to Thomas Park and Richard Jones.

After a slow start, Warriors picked up the pace in attack and scored a goal via Stewart’s stick, with Sean running the ball up the field and passing into the forward line. Jarrod played brilliantly in goals. Go Warriors!
Aztecs played a great team game with continued passing by all players resulting in some great goals. Great work by the defenders kept the Warriors score to one. Leesa Crookston, Dylan Brown, Shannon Ward and Jordan Berg continuously ran the field to contribute to the Aztec goals. This was a wonderful display of teamwork by all Aztec players.

Gulls 5 defeated Drouids 0
Although conditions were very slippery, the team played really well. Spectacular falls by Ewan Wallin made for enjoyable watching and a great goal. Tiarna Kramer and Grace Gaylard also put in a top effort to keep the ball up in the Gulls forward line and Sarah Anderson scored a great goal.
Despite the score, Drouids players played a very good game with a very active line of defence and used the wings often to their advantage. The team played really well together, which made watching them very interesting for the spectators.

Aztecs 3 defeated Warriors 1
The drizzly conditions brought out the best in the Aztecs team. Great team play showed in the passing of the ball to team mates and the shared goal scoring – with James Leitner, Hannah Pallot and Jade Whitehead all scoring one each. Aztecs dominated the game with most of the play at our end. Coach Robyn Ridsdale had only positives to say about the standard of play and commitment by all players. Jamie Cochrane received the Coach’s award for strong forward line play.
Gulls defeated Drouids
A great team game played in adverse conditions. Isaac had some great shots on goal and his persistence paid off. Chris Miles played well and his attacking play resulted in a goal. Great defensive work by all and thanks goes to Nathan Kemp who filled in as goalie. Go Gulls!!
Women’s
Warriors 5 defeated Aztecs 1
The Warriors played a very even game in the extremely cold conditions. Chris Hobbs’ three goals were very good. Jo Knerash unfortunately missed two goals but the two she did get almost made up for them. Kelly Anne McDonald unfortunately only just missed goals twice.
A competitive game showing good skill, tenacity and teamwork and the score doesn't reflect the true nature of the game. Aztecs played an attacking game with Rowena Beck and Megan Farmer playing their best game of the season. Jan Park and Penni Beck were again on fire, tackling well in defence. Bonnie James' skills improve every week and she had some excellent runs on the wing.
