It was a draw of 1 all in the first half as
Drouids were tiring as they ran hard and were determined to score again as the
second half approached Drouids snuck away with another goal from Jim McCormack
and then another towards the end of the game. Overall it was a good game with
respect for the other players and umpires.

Equally fought first half with
Nick Brown scoring the first goal from a pass from Brendon Noye. A saw sawing
game with Aiden Cumming stopping many shots from the Drouids players. Second

valiant effort by all Warriors players, especially by those who played up.

It
was a well-fought game by Drouids women under warm conditions and also feeling
there way with their new line up.
Fiona Conochie was strong in defence working in well with Gita Walker.
Anne-Marie Flemming put in a great effort in goals filling in for her
mother, stopping many opportunities that were put forward.
Becky Smythe made some good leads forward as did Claire Wigglesworth but
unfortunately the warriors were too strong in defence on the day.
Justine Gooding played a great positional game working hard in attack on
the right wing. A good effort team.
This week the Gulls women started off short but with the add of some late
players and returning to the field after a long break and still nursing an
injury Laura Court gave us a full team. It was great to see lots of teamwork and
running done by everyone this week. Michelle Goulter, Bronwyn Wallace, Kate
Martin and Melinda Kemp all showed great skill and lots of determination during
this game. Deanne Smith did a fantastic job in goals even after being faced with
a penalty stroke in the first half. Bronwyn Wallace scored our only goal this
week although many more attempts were made. Better luck next week Gulls.

Aztecs
notched up their first win since the preliminary finals of 2008, putting in a
strong performance against the undermanned Gulls. The entire team stepped
up to attack effectively which resulted in a lot of play in the D. Alicia
Wood-Davies was stand out on the forward line, dodging well and putting the
pressure on Gull’s defence. One of her two goals came from a lovely strong hit
from a penalty corner. Jane Rees gave a lot of support and was well positioned
on the corner post. This gave her the opportunity to also score. Nat Tyson and
Steph Hill also attacked strongly and Anna Nielsen put some timely pushes back
into the D. Sam Hill, Steph Crookston and Jan Park were relentless on the half
back line, chasing and tackling well. Robyn Ridsdale’s strong hitting and stick
work were key to placing us back into attack and the every reliable Jackie Mowat
had a few runs up the field from the back line. Once again, thanks to Barb the
goalie.

a feature of the game with goals being scored by Matthew & Luke Taylor. Ben
Falzon was great in goals and his brother Aaron in his first game for the club,
did well. Brian Taylor was in fine form and Steve Fallon played extremely well.
Warriors def Drouids 3 - 1
Warriors men played a
terrific hard fought, competitive match, Tyler scored 2 goals that came from
excellent team plays and Michael scored the other one. It great to see
Warriors team fielding a full team and they are reaping the rewards of that.
Drouids play very strong, with the forward line showing great attacking skills
to help John Thompson, where he scored the only goal for Drouids.
Welcome back to Chris Garden who displayed strong defence in the back line, but
Drouids was unable to stop Warriors attack.
