Drouids 5 def Warriors 2

A terrific team effort saw Drouids into next week’s grand final!! Passing between the centres Keisha Leggett Mathew Zurrer and Lachlan McLean was exemplary. High level defence from Pru Grant and William Edmonds kept Warriors far from goal. Midfielders Ben McCarty, Tristan Walker, Jordan Di Pietro and Luci Williams gave constant drive. Goal set ups were strong with second efforts producing the results. Well done Alyce Hatfield with 2 goals and Matty Zurrer with 3 goals. Great goalkeeping Liam Watts! Thanks to under 13 players Sam Watts, Jacob Bush, James Pugh and Ed Edmonds for your terrific play. Well done coach John Leggett. Good luck to all for next week. All 6 Drouids teams in grand finals!!!

Very fast, up and down the field and 2 quick goals by Drouids then a golden run by Brendon Noye to score a flying goal. Terrific work by Jacinta Brown who held constant position and eye contact with the ball. Liegh Boreham showing star qualities as well. Aiden Cumming did some brave and great saves that made you hold your breath.. Matt Breedon and James Rhodes played with no fear and gave their all. Lisa Shaw once again showed great determination. Jesiah Bertoli also had a golden run scoring a much needed goal. Taylor Stephens got tough and got them back. Nick Brown ran his heart out and Caitlin King was everywhere she needed to be along with Jemma Rhinehart. Congratulations Drouids, well earned!

Drouids 4 def Warriors 3

Drouids played excellent, strong team hockey defeating Warriors and gaining a place in the GRAND FINAL next week. Well done team! Backs Will, Claire, Luke, Kesh, Jim and Dylan were in terrific form and constantly turned defence into attack. Aaron, Luci, Matt, Lachlan, Ben, Dean, Sam, Leah and “Dobbo’ rotated regularly through midfield.  You played some excellent hockey this week.  Great goalkeeping Bronte!! Well done!

A great game by both Drouids & Warriors.  Drouids were quicker to start and went out to a 2-0 lead.  Warriors, however, remained in touch through two great penalty corner goals by Brendan Noye.  Drouids continued to press but Aiden Cumming (GK), Jo & Dan Bertoli, Josh Hendrick, Nic Brown and others were rocks in defence.  Warriors drew level at 3-3 with a superb deflection by Sam Lodge off a penalty corner.  Drouids got one back to go 4-3 up and Warriors threw as much firepower up front as possible.  All of Dan Bellfield, Caitlin King, Leigh Boreham, Jemma Rinehart, Lisa Shaw and James Rhodes were asked to push forward but regrettably Warriors were unable to score.  Final score 4-3 to Drouids.  Warriors wish Drouids and Aztecs well in the final.

Women’s

Warriors 1 def Gulls 0

This week’s match was a hard fought match that could have gone either way and was a credit to both teams talent and fighting spirit. All girls ran hard and played right to the final whistle. Every player could have been player of the match. The goal scored was a great team effort lead by Lisa Smith with Belinda Hatfield finally putting it away in the last five minutes of the game. Congratulations to all and best of luck for next week’s game that we are all looking forward to.
