Orange Round is a local initiative designed to promote respect and tackle family violence across Gippsland.
Rates of family violence are high, and rising, across Gippsland. Family violence is overwhelmingly perpetuated against women.
Sporting clubs are uniquely placed to take a stand against disrespect and violence in our communities. By wearing orange on the 28th of June, you are demonstrating your support for respect on the field and at home.
In 2025, West Gippsland Hockey Association is participating in Orange Round. There will be two information sessions on Wednesday 25th of June, 7.30pm for junior players, and 8.15pm for Seniors, to share some messages around respect and equality, and how we can all promote an inclusive community that is supportive of everyone.
On Saturday 28th of June, players, coaches and officials will have the opportunity to demonstrate their support of ending family violence by wearing some orange tape, an orange ribbon, or other orange decoration during their games.
GippSport will run the information sessions and also be in attendance for Round 8, with some more promotional material around the pitch this weekend.
By uniting as a community, we can help tackle family violence in Gippsland.
